Recipies

Great Recipe Ideas from Essex Cottage Farms:

Health Biscuit

Mix together:  
1 cup Kibble Boost'r™
   2 cups Oat Flour
   2 tbsp. pureed cooked meat,  fish, (or baby food )
   2 tbsp apple sauce, pureed pumpkin, squash, etc
   Enough broth or water to moisten

  1.  Moisten with enough water or broth
       to  make a soft dough. 
  2.  Spoon batter by the teaspoon full
       onto a  lined or greased baking sheet.
  3.  Flatten with a fork.
  4.  Bake 350F for 25 minutes until done.
       Cool & freeze extra in daily portions.
    
   Congratulations!  You have just made
   the most delicious and nutritious dog
   biscuits found anywhere!

 

Original Adult Health Food Sample Recipe:

Mix together:
5 cups Original Adult Health Food Mix
1/2 Cup ECF Garden Veggies (or 3/4 Cup orange & 2/3 Cup green vegetables - pureed)
2 tbsp. ECF Pure Alfalfa
1-2 raw Eggs
2 pureed Red Apples (skin on)
9 tbsp. sunflower oil
1 1/2 - 2 cups distilled water
Add & mix together:
2 lb. regular ground Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Lamb or fish (ie canned salmon)

1. Put in a 9" x 13" or 2 x 8" x 8" baking dishes.  Or make 24 x 1/2 cup muffins. Or scoop 24 x 1/2 cup scoops on greased or lined baking sheet.
2.  Bake 350F for 45 minutes (until done). Consistency of a cakey meatloaf.
3.  Cool, feed and refrigerate or freeze extra.

Hypoallergenic Adult Health Food Sample Recipe:


You are going to follow our 'Elimination Diet',
Full instructions are  inside each package.

Mix together:
5 cups Hypoallergenic Adult Health Food Mix
3/4 Cup Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, or squash -  pureed
 2/3 Cup Green Beans - pureed)
2 tbsp. ECF Pure Sea Kelp
2 pureed Red Apples (skin on)
9 tbsp. sunflower oil
1 1/2 - 2 cups distilled water
Add & mix together:
2 lb. regular ground  Lamb or Salmon (canned is fine)

1. Put in a 9" x 13" or 2 x 8" x 8" baking dishes.  Or make 24 x 1/2 cup muffins. Or scoop 24 x 1/2 cup scoops on greased or lined baking sheet.
2.  Bake 350F for 45 minutes (until done). Consistency of a cakey meatloaf.
3.  Cool, feed and refrigerate or freeze extra.

Raw Diets:
1.  Partly Raw:  bake everything except the meat & add meat at feeding time. 
3.  Feed & freeze extra.

2.  Totally Raw:  Combine all ingredients and let soak at least 25 minutes (or overnight in the fridge).  Feed and freeze extra.

Before you go to a raw diet, we recommend you bake the food until you become familiar with the food and your dog's  immune system & GI tract strengthen.

NOTE:  You are only going to add fresh food ingredients that you dog is NOT allergic to.
 

 

"Healthy Start" Puppy Health Food
   Sample Recipe:


Mix together:
3 cups  "Healthy Start" Puppy Health Food Mix
1/2 Cup ECF Garden Veggies (or 2/3 cup orange & 2/3 cup green vegetables - pureed)
1 tbsp. ECF Pure Alfalfa

1 - 1 1/2 cups distilled water

2.  Bake 350F for 35 minutes (until done). Consistency of a cakey meatloaf.
3.  Cool, feed and refrigerate or freeze extra.
